A popular question that my clients ask is …
How often should I book for reiki after my first session?

The short answer =
it’s completely up to you.
The long answer =
After your first reiki session, pay attention to how you feel after… that same night & for the next 2 days.
Try & continue to notice any changes – energetically, emotionally, physically, spiritually.
Some clients just ‘feel’ the energy healing during the session & that is plenty for them to feel relaxed before they return to their busy lives.
Others feel the effects for the rest of the day & next 2 days or longer.
The important question is: WHY you came for the session? & if the session provided a positive effect or relief.
If the intention was to get a reiki session to feel more relaxed as part of self care, then that will be achieved.
If it’s a long standing issue like childhood trauma then regular reiki is a good way to heal if you found the session effective.
If you’ve had trauma for many years, it’s not realistic to think that just one reiki session is going to cure all the layers of the issue.
I also think of how practical it is for my clients to book in regularly, reiki sessions are not cheap and it might not be convenient for someone to book in regularly. When someone is feeling vulnerable and this is usually the case with trauma & reiki, I like to remind them of their power – they are the gurus of their lives. My clients know what is up – what I do is help them connect back to themselves with the help of the higher realm & healing energy.
If you Google this question you’ll find lots of articles that claim you should book weekly or fortnightly to deal with serious issues.
Why do practitioners claim this?
Well of course weekly reiki sessions will be beneficial for anyone (whether or not you have trauma).
And from a practitioner’s perspective – it’s good for their business for clients to rebook.
But asking a client to book in weekly or fortnightly doesn’t sit right for me.
I think of the client’s wellbeing & if they are vulnerable and going through trauma – is it harmful to the client to suggest weekly sessions to feel healed if you aren’t aware of their financial or time commitments? I really think it’s up to how they feel after their first session, leave the power in their hands to decide whether they honestly need it & have the time & money to book in.
There are also other ways to heal – combine reiki with yoga or flower essences, crystal healing, sound healing, salt baths, herbs, aromatherapy … there is so much available.
Anyways that’s my personal view on it ✌🏼 from experience of being a practitioner and also a receiver of reiki. So if you are wondering …when should I book in next? listen to your intuition & follow where you are guided. And when you are ready for another session, of course I will be here!
